Ultra Rare Roger McGuinn Recording From 1969
Byrds fans are aware of the often bootlegged concert by the band at the Boston Tea Party in 1969. Long thought to have happened on February 22, it is now known that the performance actually took place on August 11. Local radio station WBCN broadcast and taped the event live, while regular visitor and contributor to this blog David E. taped the broadcast on his cassette recorder. The next day, when WBCN began playing the tape, they also broadcast a Roger McGuinn commercial for the station. David pressed the red button on his tape recorder again.
