SIERRA UPDATE: GENE CLARK THE LOST STUDIO SESSIONS 1964-1982

SIERRA UPDATE: GENE CLARK THE LOST STUDIO SESSIONS 1964-1982
We're celebrating Gene Clark's birthday in style!
I have been waiting for months to have the pleasure of making the following announcement. On Thursday, November 17, 2016, on what would have been Gene Clark's 72nd birthday, Sierra Records is proud to announce that we will begin shipping our long-anticipated release, The Lost Studio Sessions 1964-1982.

To those of you that might have been waiting until now, the current prices at the Sierra website will remain in effect ONLY until November 28, 2016 (the official commercial release date of the album).  After that date, remaining copies of the ULTIMATE LIMITED EDITION, the single hybrid SACD/CD and the 2-LP audiophile vinyl set will increase as follows:

Ultimate Limited Edition: $94.98
Hybrid SACD: $34.98
2 LP vinyl set: $45.98
(plus shipping and handling)

As an extra bonus, all the 2 LP vinyl records are being pressed on 200 gram vinyl, not 180 gram as originally advertised, as soon as they are sold out, the 2 LP set will revert back to 180 gram vinyl. Hurry now and place your order to take advantage of the lower prices before we sell out of the first production run!

Lastly on this topic, please be advised that any current listings that you may see on Amazon other online websites for The Lost Studio Sessions as an "import" emanate from Sierra's distributor in Japan, to whom we will be supplying product in a few weeks after December 1.  The physical copies being offered on Amazon and other sites are identical to the ones currently being sold through Sierra directly.  Sierra's North America distributor, Alliance Entertainment Corp, will be offering the album as well to it's hundreds of retailers after December 1.

Happy Birthday to Us!
This month also marks the 45th Anniversary of this company I founded back in 1971.  I had just returned to California after spending the last part of the summer living with and traveling up and down the Eastern seaboard with Doc and Merle Watson.  With encouragement from people like Doc and Clarence White I started the mail order company, with advertisements placed in Bluegrass Unlimited and Muleskinner News magazines.  It has been a rewarding journey and a unique opportunity to share the music I love with all of you.   But rest assured we're only getting warmed up! Lots more surprises on the horizon!
RIP Leon Russell 1942-2016
We at Sierra Records were saddened to learn of the death of Leon Russell, a pivotal figure in rock music during the 1960s and 1970s. An extraordinary musician/singer/songwriter/arranger, Leon’s arrangements on two of the songs from Gene Clark's sessions in early 1967 appear on the new album ("Back Street Mirror"/"Don't Let It Fall Through"), and stand as ample reminders of -- and tributes to -- his musical genius.

Finally, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone for your patience and understanding through the challenges we have faced during the making of this album. In the end I'm sure you will agree that it was indeed worth the wait.

Very truly yours,

John Delgatto
